Workshops

Workshops & Community Projects

For me, workshops are where comics, printmaking, and storytelling meet peopleโ€”face-to-face, hands-on, and often surprising. Over the years, Iโ€™ve run sessions across Hull and beyond, working with libraries, galleries, schools, and community spaces.

Each is different, but they all share a common thread: exploring creativity through making.

Zine-Making Workshops

Thereโ€™s something powerful about folding a single sheet of paper into a story. Zine-making introduces people of all ages to self-publishingโ€”combining words, drawings, collages, and photocopying into something uniquely their own.

Creature Model Building

Storytelling in three dimensions. These workshops guide participants through creating their characters or creaturesโ€”combining model-making and imagination to build something tactile, strange, and memorable.

Lino Print Workshops

Lino printing is all about bold lines, physical carving, and the satisfying moment the print lifts off the paper. Iโ€™ve run these sessions as introductions to printmaking possibilitiesโ€”perfect for those new to the medium.

Screen Printing Sessions (Makerspace Hull)

Working in the Makerspace print room, these workshops focused on processโ€”mixing colour, layering imagery, and experimenting with design. Screen printing strips things back to ink, paper, and a bit of luck.

Protest Print Workshop (Humber Street Gallery)

This session explored how printmaking and activism overlapโ€”participants created bold, graphic posters tackling the environmental issues they cared about most.

Rainbow Community Garden Project

Outdoors, surrounded by nature, this community workshop blended art-making with shared green spaceโ€”exploring how creativity and environment shape each other.

Why It Matters

Every workshop is about creating spaceโ€”to try, fail, make a mess, and tell stories that might not get told otherwise. Sometimes itโ€™s about the final piece. More often, itโ€™s about the process.

I run these projects when the right opportunities arise. If youโ€™re interested in collaborating or bringing a session into your space, get in touch.
