About PhatPrint Comics

PhatPrint Comics Independent comics, illustration, and community storytelling from Hull, UK

PhatPrint Comics is the creative home of Sean Azzopardi, an artist, cartoonist, and independent publisher based in Hull. Since 2001 PhatPrint have produced autobiographical comics, graphic novels, prints, and community arts projects. Rooted in storytelling and the DIY spirit of small press publishing.

Work influenced by personal experience, reflection, and internal exploration. Capturing everyday life, health, memory, and the experiences that pass too quickly. Now working on the long-running autobiographical series, Life’s a Party. Developed over the past 15 years as an ongoing exploration of what it means to live, observe, and document.

Alongside comics, Sean works across printmaking, digital collage, and illustration, producing limited edition prints, posters, and collaborative projects. He also delivers comics workshops and projects. Sharing skills and encouraging others to find their own stories through zines, comics, and print.

Sean is artist in residence at Hull central library Makerspace. Can be found in the screen print room, cooking up new works and interesting creatures.
