Book signing at Gosh ! – 26/06/21

Sea Shepherd signing at Gosh – I will be signing copies of my Sea Shepherd book at Gosh comics, Saturday June 26th – 1 – 2pm.
This is my first event since the start of the Pandemic, so it would be lovely to see some friendly faces again.
About the graphic novel
The Sea shepherd is a Graphic novel about the the history of the Marine Conservation organisation, Sea Shepherd and there leader Paul Watson.
It charts the history of the organization and how they have been successful in defending marine wildlife. In the face of action from governments and multi national interest, keen on preserving profit at the expense of destroying the natural world.
The project was funded by the Arts Council and published by Strip for Me.
From Captain Paul Watson
The most powerful weapons in the world for shaping public opinion and changing the world are cameras, pens, pencils, paint brushes and the ability to speak passionately in defense of the planet. Sean Azzopardi is an artist activist practicing the art of saving the Ocean. He has captured the Sea Shepherd story in a concise, entertaining and informative narrative in a way that young people can relate to.
Joe Gordon – Down the tubes
Right from the opening pages, we are spared no punches – this is a violent, bloody, gory business that sees the worst and best of human activity in the natural world, and it is not for the faint of heart. In the first few pages we have the working of an explosive harpoon explained, and how it is used to kill a whale in a violent, painful death, before it is hauled onto floating death factories to be ripped apart.
Andy Oliver – Broken Frontier
It’s Azzopardi’s art, though, that elevates the narrative with confident visual storytelling, both capturing the sheer horror of the unrelenting and amoral destruction of the biosphere and also the enormity of the marine environment The Sea Shepherd is set within.
Sea Shepherd organisation
Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization. Established in 1977, our mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world’s oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species. We use innovative direct-action tactics to investigate, document, and take action when necessary to expose and confront illegal activities on the high seas. By safeguarding the biodiversity of our delicately balanced ocean ecosystems, Sea Shepherd works to ensure their survival for future generations.
